As Vice President of the Student Broadcasting Club at Gaston College, Rose Brewster has made a name for herself as a “Lady of many talents”. She has only been with the Broadcasting Department for 3 semesters, but has quickly made a name for herself. After learning the on campus television equipment in merely weeks, holding a position in club office and generally known as a “go to” girl, there is no doubt that Rose is an asset to the BPT program.
It took Rose nearly 3 years of attending Civil Engineering classes at UNCC to realize that it was not enough to satisfy her. She was stifled creatively. After taking a break to work for her father’s company, Crouse Recycling, She attempted to jump back in the saddle at Gaston College. Looking at the Associates in Civil Engineering degree and knowing she only had a few credits to receive, she still felt as if it wasn’t the right decision to make.
“Working in the construction industry was incredibly monotonous, and entering the department I felt creatively free, it was liberating," Rose said.
Rose jumped right into the video aspect of the program , excelling in both shooting and editing. She is about to challenge herself by shooting her first short film for the program.
