- Day one: check your syllabus/calendar for due dates.
- Don’t wait to complete your assignments until the due date.
- Fill out your calendar on paper or set alarms on your mobile devices/computers
- For Blackboard discussions use WORD and spell check then “Copy and Paste” into Notepad (This erases all HTML codes) then “Copy and Paste” into your Blackboard discussions.
- Save your discussions in WORD, just in case Blackboard has problems.
- Don’t forget to reply to your classmate’s discussion posts, set a reminder on your mobile device or computer.
- Have your book with you when attempting online quizzes.
- Download Blackboard “IM” so you can communicate with classmates or instructor if you have trouble with an assignment.
- Take the time to read instructions carefully.
- Don’t be afraid to ask your instructor for help.
- Don’t wait until the last minute to get in touch with your partner during partner projects.
- If you are having technical issues with Blackboard call 1-866-829-9690. This is a 24/7 free service provided by the college.

Great tips, I have used probably most of them with great results. My biggest help was printing out the calender and taking a few minutes to put the due dates on my phone.
