The community recording project has grown since opening the
new recording studio in August. Sessions
with local performers are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday nights in the Craig
Arts and Sciences building’s room 120. They
are part of the advanced audio courses curriculum.
Current projects include:
A CD (their third) for One Leg Rooster, a trio that plays mostly
original tunes in their self-titled “Hillbilly Jazz” style in gigs around the
Piedmont; A demo CD for Damascus Road, a
popular Christian rock group; a 4-song
demo for Daniel Jeffers, a talented young local singer-songwriter building his
career, a demo for Trio, a group of five
Gaston college students; a traditional
Native American and Christmas music CD for Shelby-based Steven Drake, who performs haunting tunes on wooden flutes he makes himself.
The studio currently
has a waiting list for performers, but welcomes inquiries from all. There is no charge for the recording
sessions.
Visitors are welcome to observe sessions. Check the BPT Event Calendar on this page for upcoming session dates, which are generally Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
