CIS 110 Course Credit by Exam - VERY IMPORTANT

Credit by Exam (CE) means you can take an exam and receive full course credit without taking the course.

Here is the process approved by the Dean's office:

First contact the instructor to see if credit by exam is available.  The student must register for the course, pay for the course and then take the exam (usually the same final exam given in the course).  This needs to be done within the first 2 weeks of the semester.  The instructor then informs the registrars office of the "CE".  A student can not do Credit by Exam for more than 18 credit hours.

For Example CIS 110 Introduction to Computers:
CIS 110 Introduction to Computers, is a pre-requisite for BPT-255  Computer Assisted Production, being offered only in fall semesters.  If you feel you can pass CIS 110 by exam, you can register for an independent study in CIS 110 this summer, take the exam, and if you pass, you can sign up for BPT-255 in the fall.

Contact Mr. Maier for more details if you would  like to pursue this option.
